RELEASE RADAR: NIKE SB DUNK LOW X BORN X RAISED
By Savanna Lattanzi | July 27th, 2023
In the past few months, Jordan has been working with Born x Raised founder Chris “Spanto” Printup to produce a Venice-inspired Dunk Low. Though much of the details of the collaboration are up in the air, here’s what we can expect if it goes forward as planned.
An ode to the Los Angeles neighborhood, the colorway will feature bright, beachy colors: pink and blue. In addition, the shoes will sport metallic silver aspects. The shoe will have a white leather construction, blue nubuck overlays, and perforated eyelet regions. Like many of the recent collaborations, this edition will honor skate history. Like many Jordan collaborations, the sneakers will incorporate mixed branding. The Born x Raised slogans “One Block at a Time” and “On the Turf” will be printed throughout the shoe. A collaborative logo will don the tongue of the dunks, in the style of the traditional Nike version. Branding will be embroidered, adding texture to the design. Paired with the metallic swoosh and inner, the colorway will provide dimension and visual interest.
Sadly, ahead of the initial July release date, creator Spanto lost his life in a fatal car accident. Because of this, the release has been postponed, but tentatively could go forward in September. We are sad to lose an inspiring figure in the streetwear world and the Bullseye team sends condolences and prayers to his family. We hope that Spanto’s vision and love of Venice will live on in his past and in-progress projects like this collaboration. The shoes are now expected to include the phrase “In Loving Memory” as well.
Whenever the collaboration is ready to release, Bullseye will have them in stock! Check back at this page for updates and click the link below to shop!
