Originally released in 1989, Air Jordan 4s were the first Jordan sneakers to enjoy a global market release. The increased availability of the shoe made this release push Jordans further from basketball wear into streetwear. Since then, the Jordan 4 has been an important and innovative silhouette for the Jordan brand. 3. Jordan 4 “Red Cement”
A riff on the notable “White Cement” colorway, this September release features red speckled aspects instead of the standard greyscale. The “White Cement” was one of four original AJ4 colorways to premiere in 1989. The new shoe is largely composed of Fire Red accents and white leather, but the classic black areas of the silhouette are also present. Following the “White Cement” color blocking, this new release will prove to add a flash of color to a familiar design.

2. Jordan 4 “Thunder” 2023
Reaching back to May, the Air Jordan 4 “Thunder” received a new release, making it one of the biggest shoes this year.. The shoe’s last release was in 2012, and before that, the shoe debuted in 2006. The shoes were first intended for the Jordan Motorcycle Race Team, and at first, were online exclusive. In its classic black nubuck, the “Thunder” is known for its bold contrast between black and yellow, much like lightning in the night sky. Yellow midsole accents, eyelets, and lining lightens the otherwise midnight silhouette. The classic AJ4 “Flight” lettering is also electric yellow below the white jumpman logo. The logo is also brightly displayed on the heel which diverges from other AJ4 designs (typically incorporating the Air Jordan logo instead).

Bullseye staff’s favorite shoe of the year, the hybrid silhouette “Pine Green” SB Jordan 4 is, of course, also our favorite AJ4 this year. Smooth off-white leather and gray suede combine to create this trailblazing skate shoe. Extremely versatile, this shoe is a strong choice regardless of the occasion. Pine Green accents and red pops of color of the tongue and sole make the shoe dynamic and visually exciting. The medium green eyelets, soles, and inner construction are bright and distinct.
