Every year, we can count on Nike’s Jordan releases to impress, and 2022 was no exception. As the year went on, the releases have only seemed to get better. Of course, we all have our favorite versions of the iconic basketball shoes. In no particular order, here are our top 5 Jordan releases here at Bullseye.
AJ4 “Military Black” released earlier this year in May and was an instant success. The shoe mimics the color blocking of the well known “Military Blue” colorway, possibly teasing its re-release in the future. This version’s iconic monochromatic palette, light gray suede, and black eyelets offer optimum contrast for a sleek choice. Altogether, the versatility of this shoe makes it a top release this year.
Released in late November, the “Lost and Found” (“Chicago”) AJ1s were possibly the most anticipated Jordan release of the year. This new take on the classic shoe touches on the shoe’s history of being often misplaced in inventory. With the new release, creators are seeking to transport sneakerheads back to the early days of AJ1s with Jordan in his prime. Classic Bulls colors are featured in this design, and a more prominent swoosh details the side of the sneaker. Through thoughtful study of natural aging of the original Air Jordan 1, brand developers have incorporated a vintage look, ensuring that every shoe feels unique.
These Jordan 2s are an April release, featuring gray canvas and light blue accents. The shoe also includes two external tags and suede overlays. A 35th anniversary special, the “Union Grey Fog” Jordan 2s include a perforated mid-panel and pops of bright red and yellow. The classic Jordan Jumpman is highlighted in pink on the tongue.
AJ4 ‘Black Canvas’ sneakers are a canvas-based Jordan, the sequel to the aptly named “Canvas”. Despite its name, the ‘Black Canvas’ is also constructed with suede and differs from its predecessor by incorporating a more traditional AJ4 Jumpman patch. This October release features red accents which contrast with the otherwise greyscale sneaker to incorporate a splash of color and bring in a classic Jordan shade.
