Air Jordan 1s were first released in 1985. Inspired by Michael Jordan in his early career, the wings Jordan logo made its iconic first appearance on this shoe. The “Banned” colorway was the original design. It was rumored that this colorway was against league rules. Featuring the greatest basketball player of all time, the Air Jordan 1 is likely the most recognizable and famous basketball shoe in the world.

Air Jordan 1s are largely made of leather and suede. PU coated leather is the main component in the shoe. Some designs also feature mesh formula and rubber soles.

The Air Jordan logo should be deeply embossed in the shoe. You should not be able to see any assembly guides. The back should have two lines of contrasting stitching against the base leather. Double check your lettering on the outsole to make sure the letters in Nike are the right width and spacing. Make sure the correct letters touch the swoosh. Air Jordan 1s can be cleaned with a sneaker cleaning kit or with warm water and soap. You can also use a soft-bristled brush. Soak your shoelaces separately in a solution of water and soap. Wet or baby wipes can be used to remove minor dirt throughout the shoe. 

Most Jordans, including AJ1s, fit true to size. When purchasing, you can feel confident selecting your normal size.
